The appointment of the architects to take forward the University and Channel’s vision for the development was made following a competitive tendering process
“This is a collaborative partnership between a global brand, BDP, and a local creative practice in ROA which brings together a multi-award winning organisation of over 1000 people, with an inter-disciplinary structure, collaborating with a practice established in Carmarthenshire for the past decade, employing a talented team of architects, with a portfolio of award winning rural projects,” says Niall Maxwell, of ROA.
“This balance of BDP’s experience and proven track record of delivery is matched with ROA’s local knowledge and high standards of design, and their capability to deliver BDP’s high standard of service. The project will help retain and create local professional employment and promote high quality design in the region.”
Gwilym Dyfri Jones, Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor at UWTSD said “This is a very exciting development and we are delighted to be working with a team of architects who have strong local roots as well as an international reputation. Our vision for the project demands the best creative solutions for the building to provide the Channel and our partners with the best facilities within an inspiring and creative eco-system”.
